Traditional tortilla chips, widely known as nachos, are globally loved crispy corn snacks.
The authentic craft begins with nixtamalization: corn kernels are cooked and soaked in lime water, then ground into soft corn masa dough.
With the full automatic processing system from REFA Machinery, the whole production workflow is streamlined.
Masa is pressed by masa feeder, then cut into classic triangular chips 1-1.2mm thickness by sheeter.
The pieces go through roasting, then frying to reach golden crispness, followed by seasoning coating.
Freshly made nachos travel along the conveyor for cooling, before entering the final packaging stage.
REFA Machinery’s integrated tortilla chip line maintains uniform shape and stable texture in every batch.
It helps snack producers preserve the traditional flavour of nachos, while greatly boosting output and production efficiency
